The Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers have unveiled renderings for a new, fully privately funded arena situated on the former Spectrum site in South Philadelphia. According to ESPN, the facility is targeted to open prior to the 2030 WNBA season, coinciding with the debut of the city’s expansion team. The project establishes the 76ers as 50-50 partners with Comcast Spectacor, ending the basketball franchise's decade-long tenure as a tenant.

The Spectrum-inspired design features a large entrance staircase modeled after the Philadelphia Museum of Art and over a half-acre of outdoor gathering space, including fan plazas and dining options. For the Flyers, the development marks a return to the grounds where the team began play in 1967 and secured two Stanley Cup championships. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman characterized the project as a shared investment between Comcast Spectacor and HBSE in the city's economic vitality.

Organizations involved project that the construction and operation will create nearly 15,000 jobs. The development is expected to generate approximately $6 billion in economic activity over the next ten years, alongside hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue for the city and the School District of Philadelphia.
