Alexander Volkanovski improved to 29-4 after knocking out Movsar Evloev at 4:54 of the second round at UFC 333.
Alexander Volkanovski (29-4) retained his featherweight championship at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi, knocking out Movsar Evloev at 4:54 of the second round. The 38-year-old champion secured the finish by dropping the previously undefeated Evloev with a left hook-right cross combination before landing unanswered strikes on the ground. According to UFC Stats, Volkanovski outlanded his opponent 45-37 in total strikes to secure his second title defense of the year.
Evloev (20-1) entered the bout with a 10-0 UFC record, including victories over Aljamain Sterling and Diego Lopes. While the 32-year-old challenger landed heavy shots from the clinch and secured early takedowns, he was unable to control the champion on the floor. The loss marks the first professional defeat for the Russian fighter, who noted Volkanovski's strength and experience following the stoppage.
Volkanovski, who became the first fighter over age 35 to win a UFC belt in a weight class under 170 pounds in 2025, indicated he will continue his career after avoiding significant damage. The champion has proposed a move to the lightweight division for a "send-off" fight against Justin Gaethje. Gaethje currently holds the 155-pound title, which he won at age 37 by defeating Ilia Topuria in June.
