Barcelona secured a 4-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray in Istanbul, marking their 10th consecutive victory to start the season.
Barcelona defeated Galatasaray 4-1 at Rams Park on Tuesday to secure their 10th consecutive victory across all competitions. Aleksey Batrakov opened the scoring for the Turkish side in Istanbul, but João Cancelo equalized before halftime. Second-half goals from Fermín López, Anthony Gordon, and Karim Adeyemi finalized the result for the Spanish champions, who have now won two Champions League fixtures and eight LaLiga matches this season.
Lamine Yamal was named the game's MVP after providing two assists. The teenager delivered a cross for López’s goal and used a piece of skill to set up Gordon’s strike, while also contributing to the build-up of the other two goals. In 10 appearances this campaign, Yamal has recorded eight goals and nine assists. Coach Hansi Flick noted that the team adjusted their decision-making in the final third and transitions during the halftime break to dominate the second period.
Barcelona has scored 43 goals during their perfect start, despite the pre-season departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Seven different players have already recorded multiple goals this season. Flick warned that football can change quickly and emphasized that titles are won in May and June, rather than October. The club’s winning run faces upcoming tests against third-placed Real Betis on Saturday, Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday, and Real Madrid the following Sunday.
