Running back Kyle Monangai is out for Sunday's game against Green Bay, while quarterback Caleb Williams remains questionable after a limited Friday practice.

Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson ruled running back Kyle Monangai out for Sunday’s Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Monangai, who is currently in a walking boot, is dealing with thumb and toe injuries sustained during a 30-carry performance in a 23-12 victory over the Jets. While Johnson described the thumb injury as a non-issue, he characterized the turf toe as a significant concern that requires a week-to-week recovery timeline following a consultation with a specialist.

Quarterback Caleb Williams is officially listed as questionable after being a limited participant in Friday's practice. This marked his first time practicing since before the team's Week 2 loss to the Vikings as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Tyson Bagent is expected to earn his second consecutive start while Williams follows a throwing protocol and running progression managed by team trainers.

D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson will lead the Bears' rushing attack, which currently averages a league-best 196 yards per game. Johnson, a fourth-round pick, recorded 16 yards on four carries during the final drive against the Jets after Monangai exited at the 4:08 mark of the fourth quarter. The Bears currently lead the NFL in rushing yards before contact (421) and after contact (364), while the Packers defense enters the contest allowing 139.3 rushing yards per game.
