Guard Bradley Beal is expected to wear the No. 3 jersey for the 2026-27 NBA season, a number previously held by franchise leader Chris Paul.

LA Clippers guard Bradley Beal is expected to wear the No. 3 jersey during the 2026-27 NBA season, according to ESPN. The 33-year-old, who recently re-signed on a two-year, $13.2 million contract, wore No. 0 last year after yielding his signature number to Chris Paul. Beal was limited to six games due to injury during his debut campaign with the franchise.

Paul, the Clippers' all-time leader in assists, retired in February after a 21-season career. The 41-year-old wore the number from 2011 to 2017 and again during a brief return last season before being sent home by the team in December 2025. While Paul stated that president Lawrence Frank indicated the jersey would eventually be retired, Beal’s switch has already been reflected on the team's official online store.

Beal previously utilized No. 3 for 13 seasons during his tenures with the Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns. Addressing the change on social media, Beal referred to Paul as a legend and noted that the history associated with the brand cannot be erased. The transition follows recent public comments from Paul, who described his abrupt departure from the team last week as highly disrespectful.
