Brendan Allen (28-7) defeated Christian Leroy Duncan via rear-naked choke at 2:46 of the fifth round on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Brendan Allen secured a submission victory over Christian Leroy Duncan at 2:46 of the fifth round during Saturday's UFC Fight Night main event at the Meta Apex. Allen, fighting out of Louisiana, utilized a rear-naked choke to end the bout after methodically taking Duncan's back in the final frame. The win improved Allen's record to 28-7 and halted a five-fight winning streak for Duncan, who now stands at 15-3.

According to UFC Stats, Duncan outlanded Allen 138-80 in total strikes, highlighted by a spinning elbow in the first round that forced Allen onto the defensive. However, Allen countered the striking volume with nearly nine minutes of control time. The scorecards were impacted by a second-round incident where Duncan had one point deducted for an eye poke.

Allen, ranked No. 5 by ESPN, has now won 11 of his last 13 appearances. This victory follows his June win over Edmen Shahbazyan. Following the finish, Allen called for matchups against the division's elite, specifically mentioning former champion Dricus Du Plessis. Duncan, a native of Gloucester, England, sees his UFC record move to 8-2 following the defeat.
