Jalon Daniels threw for 189 yards and Bucky Irving rushed for 165 yards as Tampa Bay earned its first win of the season against Dallas.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured a 24-16 road victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, erasing a three-point halftime deficit with a 17-point surge in the third quarter. Undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels, making his second start in place of the injured Baker Mayfield, completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and one touchdown. The Buccaneers' offense generated 241 rushing yards, anchored by Bucky Irving’s 21 carries for 165 yards. Irving scored both a rushing and receiving touchdown and recorded a career-long 72-yard run.

Dallas opened the game with a 70-yard touchdown drive capped by a 1-yard Javonte Williams run, but the offense struggled thereafter. Dak Prescott finished 24-of-32 for 316 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. George Pickens caught nine passes for 130 yards and a score in the loss. The Cowboys' defense allowed Tampa Bay to convert 7 of 13 third downs, while their own offense committed three turnovers.

Inside linebacker Alex Anzalone intercepted Prescott with 1:22 remaining to seal the win for Tampa Bay (1-4). The Buccaneers defense limited Prescott to a 15.4% completion rate against the blitz through three quarters. Despite committing 14 penalties and being stopped on a fourth-and-goal at the 1-yard line in the fourth quarter, Tampa Bay held Dallas to 16 points. The Cowboys (2-3) have now allowed 20 or more points in 12 consecutive games, tying a franchise record.
