The Milwaukee Bucks have rescheduled their Oct. 23 home opener against the Chicago Bulls to a 3 p.m. CT tipoff. Originally slated for 7 p.m., the change was made in coordination with the NBA office to avoid a direct conflict with Game 1 of the World Series, which will be hosted by the Milwaukee Brewers that same evening.
The Brewers clinched their first World Series berth since 1982 on Thursday and will face either the Cleveland Guardians or the Tampa Bay Rays. This marks the first time in 44 years the franchise has reached the championship round. Bucks officials cited the historic nature of the event as the primary reason for the four-hour adjustment to the basketball schedule.
Milwaukee begins its regular season on the road against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. Following the home opener, the Bucks face another potential scheduling overlap on Oct. 31. They are currently scheduled to host the Cleveland Cavaliers that night, which coincides with a potential Game 7 of the World Series if the best-of-seven series reaches its limit.
