This strike ended a scoring drought for Pulisic, whose last Milan goal occurred in December 2025 against Verona. Despite the performance, Pulisic was not included in Mauricio Pochettino’s United States squad for the upcoming four-match international window.

Lecce missed early opportunities from Joel Monteiro and Ivan Ilic, while Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan saved a header from Kialonda Gaspar. Milan’s second goal involved a quick exchange between Rabiot and Gonçalo Ramos. Moreira’s final tally came after he recovered the ball near the halfway line, drove down the left flank, and beat Wladimiro Falcone with a low shot. The result follows a midweek 2-0 Europa League loss to Benfica, which had left Milan with only one home win since March prior to Sunday's kickoff.
