Houston first baseman Christian Walker and Atlanta first baseman Matt Olson secured their fourth career Gold Gloves on Sunday, while Boston right fielder Wilyer Abreu earned the defensive honor for the third consecutive year. Walker, who previously won in 2022, 2023, and 2024, received a $75,000 bonus for the achievement. Olson added to his previous wins from 2018, 2019, and 2025.
The Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks led the league with three winners each. For Boston, center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela won for the second straight season, and third baseman Caleb Durbin was a first-time recipient. Arizona's winners included catcher Gabriel Moreno, who earned his second award and first since 2023, alongside first-time winners Geraldo Perdomo at shortstop and Corbin Carroll in right field.
Braves utility man Mauricio Dubón collected his third Gold Glove following wins in 2023 and 2025. Other second-time winners featured Chicago Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman and center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, New York Yankees left fielder Cody Bellinger, Detroit catcher Dillon Dingler, and Milwaukee second baseman Brice Turang. Turang received a $25,000 bonus for his selection.
Several players earned the award for the first time, including Cleveland pitcher Tanner Bibee, who earned a $50,000 bonus. Additional first-time honorees were Milwaukee left fielder Jackson Chourio, Texas utility man Ezequiel Duran, New York Mets pitcher Nolan McLean, Tampa Bay shortstop Taylor Walls, and Seattle second baseman Cole Young.
Award results were determined by votes from MLB managers and up to six coaches per team, who are prohibited from voting for their own players. These votes account for approximately 75% of the total, with the remaining 25% factored from the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) defensive index. The utility category relies on a specific SABR formula and supplementary defensive statistics.
