Coco Gauff defeated Iva Jovic 6-1, 6-4 on Monday night to secure her first US Open quarterfinal appearance since winning the title in 2023.

Coco Gauff defeated No. 14 seed Iva Jovic 6-1, 6-4 on Monday night to advance to the US Open quarterfinals. The victory marks Gauff’s 10th consecutive win and her ninth straight-sets triumph in a row, establishing the longest such streak of her professional career. The No. 4 seed has not dropped a single set since her opening match at the Cincinnati Open, a tournament where she won six matches to claim the title.

At 22 years old, Gauff is the youngest American woman to reach three major quarterfinals in a single calendar year since Serena Williams achieved the feat at age 21 in 2003. This result represents her deepest run in New York since she won her first major title at this event three years ago. In the intervening years, Gauff was eliminated in the fourth round by Emma Navarro in 2024 and by Naomi Osaka in 2025.

Jovic entered the match following a victory over No. 17 Alexandra Eala but fell short of matching her career-best Grand Slam performance from this year's Australian Open. Gauff now moves on to a Wednesday quarterfinal matchup against fifth-seeded Mirra Andreeva. Gauff holds a 5-0 career head-to-head advantage over Andreeva, which includes a victory in their only previous hard-court meeting during the 2023 US Open.
