Dak Prescott Irked by Contractor's Callout Following 24-16 Loss to Buccaneers

The Dallas Cowboys fell 24-16 to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers, prompting a stadium worker to yell "embarrassing" at Dak Prescott.

The Dallas Cowboys fell to 2-3 on the season following a 24-16 home loss to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. Dallas was held to a season-low 16 points, their lowest output since Week 3 of the previous year. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two interceptions on tipped passes, while the offense managed only 50 rushing yards. Following the game, a third-party contractor positioned near the locker room exit yelled "embarrassing" at Prescott, leading the quarterback to briefly confront the individual for cowering away after the comment.

Defensively, Dallas allowed 241 rushing yards, including a 72-yard run by Bucky Irving at the start of the third quarter. The Cowboys surrendered 165 yards before contact, the highest mark in the NFL this season. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown for Tampa Bay. The Dallas defense has now allowed more than 20 points in five consecutive games, matching a franchise record for consecutive games allowing that total at 12.

Key mistakes hindered a potential Dallas comeback, including a lost fumble by KaVontae Turpin on a kickoff return and a dropped interception by DaRon Bland. Tight end Jake Ferguson also dropped a pass that resulted in an interception by Alex Anzalone. Despite the performance, owner Jerry Jones stated it would be premature to change defensive playcalling duties for coordinator Christian Parker. The Cowboys now enter a 10-day break before facing the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on October 18.
