Davante Adams is expected to miss six to 10 weeks after rupturing his semitendinosus late in the fourth quarter of the Rams' 18-16 loss to Arizona.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams will miss six to 10 weeks after rupturing a hamstring during Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, head coach Sean McVay announced Monday. The injury, specifically a ruptured semitendinosus, occurred late in the fourth quarter while Adams ran a route into the end zone. Dr. Neal ElAttrache will perform a procedure to repair the muscle, according to a source cited by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Through six games this season, Adams has recorded 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns. The six-time Pro Bowler hopes to return as close to the team's post-Week 11 bye as possible. Following the loss and the injury news, the Rams' Super Bowl odds at DraftKings shifted from 5-1 favorites entering the season to 12-1.
The Rams face several additional roster setbacks. Nose tackle Poona Ford is out for the remainder of the season with a ruptured triceps, and kicker Blake Grupe was placed on injured reserve Monday with a torn ACL. Defensive tackle Kobie Turner is expected to miss at least four games with a groin injury that will likely land him on injured reserve.
To address the vacancy at kicker, the team plans to work out veterans Brandon McManus and Matt Prater on Tuesday. Meanwhile, pass rusher Myles Garrett will remain sidelined this week following mid-September knee surgery, having already missed five games. Cornerback Trent McDuffie's status for the upcoming week remains undetermined as he recovers from a groin injury suffered in practice.
