DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings announced the circuit will not grant conditional status to golfers who join LIV Golf 2.0 for the 2027 season.

DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings confirmed on Monday that the circuit will refuse membership to any golfers who sign with LIV Golf 2.0 for the 2027 season. Unlike previous years where conditional status was granted to more than 10 LIV golfers—including Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton—the tour will no longer provide such exceptions. Players must submit their applications for DP World Tour membership by a Nov. 16 deadline.

This decision directly impacts the 2027 Ryder Cup, scheduled for Sept. 17-19 at Adare Manor in Ireland, as participants must hold DP World Tour membership to represent Europe. Kinnings told BBC Sport that players must abide by tour regulations and that those unwilling to comply should not seek to join the circuit.

The policy shift arrives as LIV Golf undergoes a Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring following its Sept. 8 filing. Court records show the league has between $100 million and $500 million in assets against liabilities ranging from $500 million to $1 billion. A proposed $300 million investment from BC Partners is contingent on the execution of new player agreements consistent with a "LIV 2.0" business plan. Current LIV golfers have until Oct. 25 to commit to these new terms.

While Sergio Garcia has already been released from his contract, other players including Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith have sought court clarification regarding their current status. Separately, an attorney for Jon Rahm stated the golfer will not participate in LIV 2.0 and is finalizing a separation agreement from the league.
