The Dumont family now holds a 69% share of the Dallas Mavericks after purchasing Miriam Adelson's stake last month.
Sivan and Patrick Dumont became the controlling owners of the Dallas Mavericks last month after purchasing Miriam Adelson's shares to reach a 69% stake in the franchise. Mark Cuban, who sold his majority share in December 2023, maintains a 27% stake. Under the terms of the 2023 agreement, Patrick Dumont holds an option to purchase an additional 20% share from Cuban at the original $3.5 billion valuation.
Patrick Dumont, who serves as the team's governor, has overseen significant personnel shifts including the hiring of Masai Ujiri as president in May. Ujiri subsequently replaced coach Jason Kidd with Dusty May and hired Mike Schmitz as general manager. These moves followed the trade of Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers and the selection of reigning Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg with the No. 1 overall pick.
The new ownership group is currently pursuing the construction of a new arena scheduled to open in 2031. The franchise entered an option agreement this summer for a 104-acre tract at the former Valley View Mall site in north Dallas. Additional infrastructure investments include eight-figure renovations to both the team's practice facility and business offices, the former of which now features the Champions Performance Kitchen.
