Joel Embiid recorded 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Philadelphia 76ers improved to 3-0 with a win over Milwaukee.
The Philadelphia 76ers remained undefeated on Saturday night, securing a 127-116 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Joel Embiid led the effort with a triple-double, recording 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists while shooting 12-of-14 from the free-throw line. Jaylen Brown contributed 27 points on his 30th birthday, including a late 3-pointer that finalized Embiid’s tenth assist. Tyrese Maxey added 26 points, highlighted by a 46-foot shot at the end of the first quarter and a fadeaway jumper to close the third.
LeBron James missed the contest due to lower back pain management during the first night of a back-to-back set. Dean Wade started in his place, scoring seven points after missing the previous two games with an ankle injury. The Sixers also saw the NBA debut of first-round pick Labaron Philon Jr., though backup big man Jabari Walker exited in the third quarter with a left knee injury that requires further evaluation.
Milwaukee fell to 0-3 despite 21 points from Jaime Jaquez Jr. and a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds from Kyle Kuzma. A late push by the Bucks was halted when Kentavious Caldwell-Pope made a 3-pointer off a turnover to give Philadelphia a nine-point advantage. According to coach Nick Nurse, James is expected to return to the lineup Sunday night for a home game against Detroit.
