Conor Coady has retired from professional football at age 33 after making 503 club appearances and earning 10 caps for England.

Conor Coady has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33, according to ESPN. The center back played his final professional match on May 2, 2024, in a 3-1 defeat to Swansea while on loan at Charlton. Coady officially left Wrexham by mutual consent on Aug. 31 and finishes his playing career with a total of 503 club appearances.

Beginning his career at Liverpool, Coady went on to represent Sheffield United, Huddersfield, Wolves, Everton, Leicester, Wrexham, and Charlton. On the international stage, he earned 10 England caps and was a member of the Euro 2020 and 2022 World Cup squads. His lone international goal came during a 3-0 friendly victory over Wales at Wembley Stadium.

Coady joined Wrexham in August 2025 but made only six appearances for the Welsh side before his January loan move to Charlton. Following his departure from the Racecourse, he has transitioned into media and coaching roles. He was unveiled on Thursday as the co-host of a new weekly podcast, "The Football Dugout," alongside Mark Chapman.

In addition to his media work, Coady has returned to Liverpool to assist with the U21 squad. He told BBC Radio 5 Live that he is working with Jay Spearing and Rob Page to learn session planning and coaching techniques. This follows his previous experience coaching the England U19 and U21 national teams last year.
