The Friedkin Group is exploring a potential sale of its controlling interest in Everton after taking over a 94.1% stake in December 2024.

The Friedkin Group (TFG) announced via the club website on October 9, 2026, that it is exploring new investment options for Everton, including the potential sale of a controlling interest. This move follows the group's acquisition of Farhad Moshiri's 94.1% stake in the Premier League side in December 2024. TFG stated that the foundation for a transition is in place after providing stability and helping bring the Hill Dickinson Stadium to completion.

During its tenure, the U.S.-owned group oversaw the club's move from Goodison Park to its new home. TFG indicated it will only consider interest from parties deemed to be the right stewards to build on current momentum. While the sale process is underway, the owners intend to support the club's success on the pitch and continue community efforts. Neither TFG nor Everton will provide further comment during the exploration phase.
