J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey are questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams due to hamstring injuries, potentially leaving rookie Jonah Coleman to lead the backfield.
Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins, who leads the team with 18 carries and 72 rushing yards through two games, is a question mark for Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams due to a left hamstring injury. Dobbins exited Sunday's victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third quarter. Fellow back RJ Harvey was a game-day inactive for that contest because of a hamstring injury sustained during the season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. According to ESPN, coach Sean Payton stated Monday that the team has a lot to determine regarding who their runners will be this week.
Rookie Jonah Coleman could see an expanded role after recording 33 of his 39 rushing yards on the final drive against Jacksonville. The Broncos backfield rotation also includes Tyler Badie on the active roster and Cody Schrader on the practice squad. During the win over the Jaguars, Denver struggled near the goal line, failing to score a touchdown on a first-and-goal possession from the 1-yard line. Dobbins recorded two carries for no gain and one carry for a loss of a yard on that drive, which resulted in a 20-yard field goal by Wil Lutz.
The Rams enter the upcoming matchup having allowed 122 rushing yards to the San Francisco 49ers in their first game of the season. As Denver searches for an offensive identity, Payton described the recent goal-line sequence as a "real bad possession." The team will monitor the health of their primary rushers throughout the week of practice in Englewood.
