Henry Cejudo Edges Javon Walton by Split Decision in Professional Boxing Debut

Henry Cejudo moved to 1-0 in professional boxing after two judges scored his four-round bout against Javon Walton 39-37 in his favor.

Henry Cejudo (1-0) defeated Javon "Wanna" Walton (3-1-1, 1 KO) by split decision in a four-round welterweight bout at Misfits Boxing on Saturday. Competing at the James L. Knight Arena in Miami, two judges scored the contest 39-37 for the former UFC champion, while the third official awarded the same 39-37 score to Walton. The 39-year-old Cejudo took the fight on two weeks' notice following the injury withdrawal of his original opponent, Nurideen Shabazz.

Walton, a 20-year-old actor known for his role in "Euphoria," utilized a four-inch height advantage to land left hands during the opening round. Cejudo adjusted his range in subsequent frames, frequently landing counter right hands and increasing his offensive output during the final round. Despite the loss, Walton remains signed to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, having boxed since the age of 4.

Following the victory, Cejudo called for a future match against Shabazz, also known as Deen the Great. The Olympic gold medalist has remained active in 2026, participating in three wrestling matches against Urijah Faber and Merab Dvalishvili prior to his professional boxing debut. Cejudo expressed interest in a potential rematch with Walton after the scorecards were read.
