Hull City equalized in the 28th minute when Mohamed Belloumi converted a snapped half-volley after a cross from Ryan Giles.

The visitors took a 2-1 lead before halftime as Belloumi scored his second of the afternoon via a deflected effort. The opportunity arose after Chelsea goalkeeper Emi Martinez failed to claim a corner and Semi Ajayi hit the crossbar with a header. Chelsea leveled the match in the 65th minute when Pedro drove a low ball through Tzolakis following a cross from Palmer.
