The inaugural WTGL season begins Sunday at 3 p.m. ET with Rose Zhang set to take the first swing for New York Golf Club against Los Angeles Golf Club.

The inaugural WTGL season tees off Sunday at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The first match features Los Angeles Golf Club against New York Golf Club at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN, where Rose Zhang will take the league's first swing. A second match between Motor City Golf Club and Los Angeles Golf Club follows on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ION. The league consists of five teams playing a round-robin schedule, with the top four advancing to the playoffs starting December 20.

Matches consist of 15 holes divided into two sessions: nine holes of alternate shot and six holes of singles. Each team rosters five players, but only three compete per match. The final six holes feature head-to-head play where each golfer completes two full holes. Every hole is worth one point. If tied after regulation, teams enter a best-of-three closest-to-the-pin overtime on the 15th hole from a distance of 25 to 50 yards.

Play is governed by a 40-second shot clock, with violations resulting in a one-stroke penalty. Teams are allotted four timeouts per match. A "hammer" feature allows teams to increase a hole's value by one point using an orange towel; if the opposing team declines the hammer, they lose the hole. The virtual course includes specialized holes such as a par 3 designed by Annika Sörenstam featuring a 1628 Swedish warship, and a "Showtime" hole highlighting Los Angeles landmarks.
