Commanders rushing leader Jacory Croskey-Merritt will miss the matchup against the 49ers due to a groin injury, coach Dan Quinn confirmed.

Washington Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt will not play in Monday's game against the San Francisco 49ers due to a groin injury, according to coach Dan Quinn. The team's leading rusher, who has recorded 239 yards and two touchdowns this season, did not practice all week following a 27-27 tie against the New York Giants. During that Week 5 contest, Croskey-Merritt recorded 82 yards on 11 carries, though he was limited to a single rushing attempt after the third quarter.

Quinn characterized the ailment as a reinjury, noting that Croskey-Merritt previously missed the final two preseason games with a similar groin issue. In his absence, Washington will turn to Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler. White was limited in Friday's practice with a shoulder injury, while Ekeler has been limited by a chest issue. The team may also activate Jeremy McNichols from the injured reserve list for the trip to San Francisco; McNichols has been sidelined since the summer with a quad injury.

Additional roster decisions remain pending for Monday. Receiver Stefon Diggs was a limited participant in Friday's practice as he recovers from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Giants game. On defense, corner Trey Amos and safety Nick Cross were full practice participants. Amos is currently on injured reserve with an ankle injury, while Cross has not played since Week 2 due to an internal injury.
