During his three starts for Miami, the team posted a 1-2 record.

Originally a seventh-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft, Ewers initially secured a spot on the Dolphins' 53-man roster as an emergency third-string option behind Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson. His professional debut occurred during a mid-season blowout loss to the Cleveland Browns, a game in which he completed 5 of 8 passing attempts for 53 yards. Rookie Season Performance and Statistics

Ewers earned his first career start in Week 16 after the Dolphins benched Tagovailoa. His most notable victory came in a 20-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he completed 14 of 22 passes for 172 yards and two scores. Despite these flashes, a new coaching regime in Miami led to a summer competition for the backup role involving Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski.

Ewers saw his momentum stall during the 2026 preseason. In his only exhibition appearance, he completed just 1 of 8 passes for 27 yards and threw one interception. A groin injury subsequently sidelined him for the final two games of the preseason schedule.
