Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Anton Harrison will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL in his right knee, according to league sources cited by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The 24-year-old underwent arthroscopic surgery on Thursday, which revealed the full extent of the damage sustained during the Jaguars' Week 5 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The team had previously placed the offensive lineman on injured reserve on Oct. 13.
The injury occurred during a running play as Harrison blocked for a sweep to the right by Bhayshul Tuten. After disengaging from a block, Harrison grabbed his right knee and fell to the ground before being transported off the field on a cart. The 2023 27th overall pick had transitioned from right tackle to left tackle during training camp earlier this year.
Statistically, Harrison ranked 39th among NFL offensive tackles with an 83.7% pass block win rate prior to the injury. This mark placed him four spots behind teammate Cole Van Lanen, who holds an 84.4% win rate at right tackle. The Jaguars had recently demonstrated their long-term commitment to Harrison by picking up his fifth-year option in April.
