Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love missed practice on Wednesday to rest his left ankle, leaving his status for Sunday's game against the Rams uncertain.

Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love did not participate in practice on Wednesday to rest a lingering left ankle injury. Coach Mike LaFleur stated that Love’s availability for Sunday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams remains unclear, as the team intends to monitor the third-overall pick on a day-to-day basis. While Love previously recovered from a preseason ankle issue, this specific injury has persisted since the start of the regular season.

Love has recorded 245 rushing yards and one touchdown on 67 carries this season, averaging 3.7 yards per attempt. The Notre Dame product has also caught 11 passes for 36 yards and a score. During Sunday’s loss to the Detroit Lions, Love was limited to 22 rushing yards on 12 carries, a significant drop from his season-high 89-yard performance against San Francisco in Week 3.

LaFleur noted that the injury has impacted Love’s explosiveness and aggressive cutting style. The coaching staff emphasized that resting the ankle is vital for the rookie's recovery, though no definitive timeline has been set for his return to the field. The Cardinals are currently prioritizing rest to prevent the ailment from becoming a long-term hindrance to Love's playstyle.
