Jose Ramirez recorded three hits and two runs in ALCS Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Rays before the series tied at 1-all.

Jose Ramirez recorded three hits and scored two runs for the Cleveland Guardians in Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the top-seeded Tampa Bay Rays. This performance followed a stretch where the veteran third baseman went 5-for-12 during the final three games of the division series comeback against the Chicago White Sox. Ramirez, who finished the regular season with 297 career home runs and 324 stolen bases, also successfully stole third base in Game 1 after identifying a changeup count against pitcher Kevin Kelly.

The ALCS moved to a 1-all tie following the Guardians' loss in Game 2. During that contest, Ramirez committed a critical error on a two-hopper hit by Ben Williamson with two outs and runners on first and third. The ball skipped between Ramirez's legs after hitting the edge of the artificial surface, allowing one run to score. Liam Hicks followed with a single into right-center field to drive in two additional runs, securing a lead the Rays did not relinquish.

Ramirez addressed the media in the hallway approximately six minutes after the final pitch of Game 2 to discuss the play. The series now shifts back to Cleveland for the remainder of the best-of-seven matchup. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt noted that Ramirez maintains his demeanor regardless of game outcomes, while team president Chris Antonetti highlighted that the infielder has maintained his signature confidence since his MLB debut as a pinch runner on September 1, 2013.
