Tyler Bass secured a 37-34 victory for the Buffalo Bills after Greg Rousseau blocked a potential game-winning field goal by Harrison Mevis in overtime.

The Buffalo Bills (4-1) defeated the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in overtime on Monday night at Inglewood, California. Quarterback Josh Allen rushed for 121 yards and kicker Tyler Bass converted the game-winning field goal following a blocked 48-yard attempt by Rams kicker Harrison Mevis. Defensive end Greg Rousseau provided the block to preserve the tie in the extra period, despite Bills running back James Cook fumbling away a possession earlier in overtime.

Buffalo utilized a run-heavy approach in the absence of receivers DJ Moore and Joshua Palmer, finishing with only four completions to wideouts. James Cook recorded 111 rushing yards but lost two fumbles during the contest. Allen added scrambles of 15 and 21 yards during a late fourth-quarter drive that resulted in a go-ahead score with 1:39 remaining, though Matthew Stafford led a 90-second response to force overtime. The Bills struggled on third downs, converting just two of seven attempts.

Matthew Stafford targeted Puka Nacua more times than Allen threw total passes, exploiting a Bills secondary that lost cornerback Christian Benford and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to injuries. Rams receiver Davante Adams caught two red zone touchdowns of 4 and 5 yards, while rookie Blake Corum contributed 19 rushing yards, one touchdown, and 53 receiving yards.

Discipline and special teams hindered Los Angeles (2-3), as the unit allowed a 70-yard kick return and missed a 50-yard field goal in the first quarter. The Rams committed 11 penalties for 84 yards, including four false starts. Buffalo next travels to face the Las Vegas Raiders, while the Rams will host the Arizona Cardinals.
