After signing a one-year, $3.9 million deal with Philadelphia, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope emphasized that team success hinges on diverse personalities meshing.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope signed a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers this offseason following a July buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies. The 33-year-old veteran, entering his 14th NBA season, joins the roster after appearing in 51 games for Memphis last year. Before a February surgery to correct a right pinkie finger misalignment sidelined him for the final 31 games of the season, he averaged 8.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game.

According to reporting from ESPN, Caldwell-Pope believes the team's success depends on how well their diverse personalities mesh on and off the court. The two-time NBA champion, who earned titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020 and the Denver Nuggets in 2023, noted that the bonding process has already included team dinners. He emphasized that communication and learning the tendencies of teammates ranked 1 through 15 on the roster will be the primary focus for the group.

Caldwell-Pope looks to improve upon his 31.6% shooting from 3-point range last season, which marked the second-lowest percentage of his career. The 3-and-D specialist aims to integrate into a Philadelphia lineup loaded with star power as the franchise pursues a championship. The veteran stated on Monday that having fun and being able to be around each other will be the biggest part of the team's chemistry moving forward.
