Klopp Awaits MRI Results for Havertz and Musiala After 1-1 Draw With Netherlands

Jürgen Klopp’s first match as Germany manager ended in a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands on Thursday in the UEFA Nations League. Felix Nmecha opened the scoring for Germany in the 32nd minute, but Cody Gakpo equalized late for a Netherlands side led by new coach Xavi. The result leaves Klopp waiting on MRI results for attackers Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala, whom he described as "probably out" for the upcoming fixture.

Musiala was a late withdrawal from the lineup after sustaining a muscle injury during warmups in Amsterdam. Havertz, the Arsenal striker, was forced to leave the pitch in the 30th minute with a similar muscle issue. Klopp stated on RTL that he hoped for a diagnosis by Thursday evening, noting that while the injuries are not ideal, he hopes they are not serious and that the players can return to action quickly.

Germany may call up Nick Woltemade or Jonathan Burkardt to bolster the squad for Sunday’s match against Greece. Reflecting on the performance, Klopp noted the team had only two days of training to implement a new style of play. Despite the draw, the former Liverpool manager expressed satisfaction with the group's reaction to the injuries and the performance of the substitutes who entered the game.
