Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray suffered a concussion during the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, ending his team debut prematurely. The injury occurred at the conclusion of a one-yard scramble when Murray absorbed a hit from safety Javon Bullard and had his helmet pulled off by defensive end Lukas Van Ness. According to ESPN, Murray remained motionless on the field for a brief period before walking to the locker room under his own power.

Following the exit of the former Arizona Cardinals signal-caller, veteran Carson Wentz entered the game as the replacement quarterback. Wentz, who was designated the No. 2 option last week, subsequently led the offense to a 38-yard field goal to secure Minnesota's first points of the contest. The Vikings' primary 2025 starter, J.J. McCarthy, served as the emergency third-string quarterback for the matchup.

Murray joined the Vikings in March on a one-year contract following a seven-season tenure in Arizona. While teammates signaled for immediate medical attention following the hit, the team officially ruled Murray out shortly after he underwent evaluation in the locker room.
