Quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss his third consecutive game as Tyler "Snoop" Huntley takes the start for the 4-2 Baltimore Ravens.
The Baltimore Ravens (4-2) officially ruled out quarterback Lamar Jackson for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals (3-2). Jackson, who is recovering from a high left ankle sprain, was downgraded from questionable on Saturday after being limited in practice throughout the week. Tyler "Snoop" Huntley, who holds a 6-8 record as a fill-in starter, will lead the offense in Jackson's absence.
Jackson sustained the injury on October 4 during the final offensive snap of the second quarter in a victory over the Tennessee Titans. The injury occurred when Titans defensive end Jermaine Johnson II landed on Jackson's left ankle. Jackson noted that he continues to experience pain when attempting to run or plant his foot. During Friday's media session, the two-time MVP was observed limping and did not appear to finish the day's practice session.
Baltimore is attempting to avoid an 0-2 start in the AFC North for the first time in 19 years following a 13-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The Ravens' offensive production has shifted significantly during Jackson's absence; the team averaged 8.3 points per quarter with Jackson on the field this season compared to 4 points per quarter with Huntley. In 10 quarters under Huntley, the unit has produced four touchdowns, while Jackson led the team to 14 offensive touchdowns in 14 quarters of play.
This marks the second consecutive year Jackson has missed multiple games, following a three-game absence due to a hamstring injury last season. The Ravens have struggled against Cincinnati without their primary starter, posting an 0-3 record against the Bengals since 2019 when Jackson does not start.
