Barcelona defeated Galatasaray 4-1 in a Champions League fixture in Istanbul, recovering from an early deficit to secure their 10th consecutive victory to start the season. Lamine Yamal, 19, anchored the second-half comeback by providing two assists, first finding Fermín López with a cross before setting up Anthony Gordon. Through 10 appearances this season, Yamal has recorded eight goals and nine assists.
Yamal described the maneuver leading to Gordon’s goal as an "almost-rabona," a sequence where he faked the skill to trick a defender before driving toward the byline. Despite a small ricochet, the teenager maintained possession to find the England international. Speaking to Movistar and CBS, Yamal noted he used the feint to create space against opponents who frequently go to ground when he reaches the edge of the pitch.
Coach Hansi Flick credited the winger with changing the game as the Spanish champions extended their perfect record to eight wins in LaLiga and two in European competition. During this 10-game stretch, the club has scored 43 total goals. Barcelona now faces a week featuring a trip to third-placed Real Betis on Saturday, a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, and the season's first Clásico against Real Madrid the following Sunday.
