Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez sustained a left hamstring strain during a 4-3 Champions League loss to Club Brugge.
Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martínez is projected to miss the club's next seven fixtures after medical tests on Thursday confirmed a strain in his left hamstring. The injury follows Tuesday's Champions League match against Club Brugge, where Martínez played the full duration and scored two goals in a 4-3 defeat. Inter coach Cristian Chivu stated on Friday that the striker will likely remain unavailable until after the November international break.
The recovery timeline rules Martínez out of Saturday's league trip to Bologna and a Champions League encounter with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday. The captain will also be absent for Serie A matches against Fiorentina and Venezia, as well as the derby against AC Milan scheduled for Oct. 31. Additional missed fixtures include games against Feyenoord and Como, with a potential return targeted for the Nov. 22 match at Atalanta.
Martínez has recorded six goals in seven appearances across Serie A and the Champions League this season. His absence also impacts the Argentina national team, which recently announced friendlies against Uruguay on Nov. 13 and Costa Rica on Nov. 17. Before this injury, Martínez had scored twice for his country in recent windows against Bolivia and Burkina Faso.
