Lewis O'Brien scored his first goal of the season in the 27th minute to secure a 1-1 draw for Wrexham against Wolves.
Lewis O'Brien’s 27th-minute header canceled out an Adam Armstrong strike to earn Wrexham a 1-1 draw against Wolves on Saturday. The result prevented the visitors from moving to the top of the Championship table, despite Wolves extending their unbeaten streak to six matches. Co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney attended the Racecourse Ground for the first league meeting between these clubs since 1988.
Adam Armstrong opened the scoring in the 25th minute, slotting home his fifth goal of the campaign after being played in by Nasser Djiga. Wrexham responded two minutes later when Issa Kaboré delivered a cross from the right wing for O'Brien to nod past José Sá. The goal marked O'Brien's first successful strike since last January.
Goalkeeper Anthony Patterson preserved the point for Phil Parkinson’s side by denying a 30-yard effort from substitute Tommy Doyle 12 minutes before full-time. Patterson also stopped a Fer Lopez header following a cross from Rafiki Said. Earlier in the match, José Sá recorded saves against Callum Doyle and a stoppage-time attempt from O'Brien.
Wolves manager Cesar Peixoto made five changes to his lineup, including placing midweek hero Sean Neave on the bench. Wrexham midfielder George Thomason was also named as a substitute, with Ollie Rathbone starting in his place. The physical contest saw André receive a booking following a foul on Jacques Ekomie.
