Veteran right-hander Robert Stock signed a one-year deal with the New York Mets on Friday after making eight appearances for the club in 2026.

The New York Mets re-signed right-handed pitcher Robert Stock to a one-year contract on Friday. Stock, who turns 37 later this month, appeared in eight games for the Mets during the 2026 season, recording a 1-3 record and a 5.93 ERA across 30⅓ innings. The veteran made seven starts and one relief appearance during his comeback campaign.

Stock earned his first major league victory since 2019 on August 31, throwing 5⅓ shutout innings in a 3-2 win against Tampa Bay. His season ended prematurely when he was placed on the 15-day injured list on September 16, retroactive to September 13, due to finger numbness. This condition was a by-product of thoracic outlet syndrome surgery performed in March, with the pitcher noting that numbness typically occurred after 60 to 70 pitches.

According to the Associated Press, Stock has played for eight different Major League organizations and holds a career 3-7 record with a 5.20 ERA in 65 games. His professional experience includes stints with the Padres, Red Sox, and Cubs, as well as time in Mexico, South Korea, and the independent Long Island Ducks.

In a separate announcement on Thursday, the Mets confirmed they will wear a memorial patch next season for Jerry Koosman. The 1969 World Series champion and two-time All-Star died Sunday at the age of 83.
