Michael Carrick dismissed concerns over Lisandro Martínez's commitment after the defender was sent off in a 2-0 loss to Chelsea.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick stated he has "no concerns" regarding Lisandro Martínez's commitment to the club following a series of poor on-field performances and off-field friction. The 28-year-old defender was sent off at Stamford Bridge after conceding a penalty that helped Chelsea secure a 2-0 lead. This incident followed a month where the Argentina international was responsible for Tottenham’s late equalizer in a 1-1 draw and publicly criticized director of football Jason Wilcox after a 2-0 loss to Atlético Madrid.

Martínez is currently in the final year of his contract, which expires at the end of the season. Despite suggestions that his behavior is linked to a desire to leave Old Trafford, Carrick told a Tuesday news conference that the World Cup winner remains determined to improve. The manager defended the integrity of his dressing room, noting that while the team needs to make better decisions, he does not question the players' dedication to each other or the staff.

Carrick faces significant scrutiny himself, as United are currently on a nine-game winless streak. The team was most recently booed off the pitch following a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth. Club officials are expected to evaluate Carrick's position during the upcoming international break, following matches against Roma and Aston Villa this week. Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo acknowledged the supporters' frustration, stating the squad owes the fans better results starting with the Tuesday fixture at Old Trafford.
