Despite achieving the best regular season in franchise history, the club remains without a World Series title and has not won a pennant since 1982. The San Diego Padres follow in the second position with a 108.3 rating, also seeking their first championship parade after last appearing in the World Series in 1998.

Cleveland occupies the third spot with a 107.0 index rating, currently holding the longest active title drought in baseball dating back to 1948. The New York Yankees rank fourth at 104.8, returning to the top five just two years after their 2024 American League pennant. Rounding out the top five are the Chicago Cubs at 101.8, who last won a championship a decade ago in 2016.

The Philadelphia Phillies, ranked seventh with a 100.9 rating, currently feature the highest team age in Major League Baseball. In contrast, the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers hold the lowest pressure rating among playoff contenders at 89.9. The Dodgers, who won the World Series in 2025, are attempting to become the first National League team to win three consecutive titles.

Additional rankings include the Tampa Bay Rays at 101.6 and the Atlanta Braves at 100.2. The Houston Astros and Chicago White Sox entered the rankings at 97.1 and 97.3, respectively, while the 2023 champion Texas Rangers sit at 95.0. The Pressure Index formula calculates these standings based on championship droughts, team age, pending free agents, and recent postseason history.
