During that season opener, Colorado Rockies player Jeff Baker homered against San Diego while teammate Ryan Speier earned the win. Only five other players in MLB history have both homered and earned a win individually in their debuts: Kenta Maeda (2016), Jason Jennings (2001), John Montefusco (1974), Hal Haydel (1970), and Denny McLain (1963).
