Joe Musgrove remains on the San Diego Padres roster after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in his first appearance since 2024.

The San Diego Padres finalized their NLDS roster with no changes from the group that secured a wild-card sweep over the Chicago Cubs. Right-hander Joe Musgrove remains active after returning from Tommy John surgery to pitch a scoreless ninth inning in Game 1, marking his first appearance since 2024. Conversely, Walker Buehler will miss one to three days of the series after being placed on the postseason paternity list. Right-hander Randy Vásquez joins the roster as Buehler's temporary replacement.

In other roster moves, the Milwaukee Brewers included left-hander Kyle Harrison despite a late-season stretch where he surrendered 21 earned runs over nine innings between Aug. 31 and Sept. 17. Harrison, who finished the season 11-5 with a 4.20 ERA, struck out four batters across two relief innings on Sept. 26. Milwaukee’s staff features 13 pitchers, including Dustin May, who posted a 5.65 ERA in 10 starts following a trade from the St. Louis Cardinals.

Brewers infielder Joey Ortiz made the postseason cut after knee and abdominal issues sidelined him for the final two games of the regular season. Milwaukee opted to omit catcher Bo Naylor, utility player Brandon Lockridge, and pitcher Grant Anderson from their current active roster.
