The NHL and Fanatics officially launched the Hometown Remix jersey collection on Monday morning for the 2026-27 season. According to ESPN’s Greg Wyshynski, the Pittsburgh Penguins hold the No. 1 ranking among all 32 teams for a design that reimagines their primary logo through the lens of Pittsburgh-born artist Andy Warhol. The sweater features a dotted yellow background in the crest and the word "Pittsburgh" repeated in various colors on the hem to represent the city’s boroughs.
The Anaheim Ducks secured the No. 2 spot with a green and gold look inspired by the fictional "Mighty Ducks" film franchise. Florida ranked third for a "coral" pink jersey that utilizes a sunrise motif and the team’s stick-and-palm secondary logo. Rounding out the top five are the Nashville Predators, who introduced a navy base with country music-inspired filigree, and the Montreal Canadiens, whose white sweater incorporates five symbols from the city's flag on the sleeves.
Several teams utilized local landmarks and history for their designs. The Washington Capitals (No. 6) returned to the Capitol dome logo featuring marble texturing on the shoulders, while the Detroit Red Wings (No. 7) placed "Hockeytown" text above their winged wheel. The Vegas Golden Knights (No. 10) incorporated casino iconography, including felt table green shoulder yokes and a roulette wheel pattern on the sleeves. In contrast, the Buffalo Sabres ranked No. 21 for a mashup that placed the "goat head" crest on a blue and yellow colorway, a combination described as lacking the harmony of the original red and black scheme.
