NHL Sunday Slate Features Heritage Classic and Interconference Revenge Games

The Florida Panthers visit the Chicago Blackhawks as Spencer Knight faces his former team, while Montreal and Winnipeg meet at Princess Auto Stadium.

The NHL Sunday schedule features five games, highlighted by the Heritage Classic outdoor matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets at Princess Auto Stadium. Montreal enters the contest as -122 favorites despite the absence of captain Nick Suzuki, who is sidelined for two to four weeks with an upper-body injury. This marks the first game for the Jets since the trade of goaltender Connor Hellebuyck to the New Jersey Devils.

In Chicago, the Florida Panthers face the Blackhawks at 3 p.m. ET. Goaltender Spencer Knight, who was traded from Florida to Chicago in March 2025, backstops a Blackhawks team that has gone 2-2 since Connor Bedard's return. The Panthers started the season 5-2-1 but enter the game following two consecutive losses where they were outscored by a combined 9-1 margin.

The Dallas Stars host the New York Islanders at 6 p.m. ET in a matchup featuring goaltenders Jake Oettinger and Ilya Sorokin. Oettinger holds a 5-2-1 record with a 1.23 goals-against average and a .939 save percentage, while Sorokin is 5-2-0 with a 1.72 GAA. This game also marks the first time Peter DeBoer will coach against the Stars since being dismissed by the team in the 2025 offseason.

Late-night action includes the Minnesota Wild visiting the Vancouver Canucks at 10 p.m. ET. The Wild, listed as -180 favorites, recently defeated the Seattle Kraken 5-1 on Saturday. The contest features Quinn Hughes playing in Vancouver for the first time since informing the team he would not sign a new contract. Additionally, the Nashville Predators host the Colorado Avalanche at 8 p.m. ET, where former Avalanche executive and current Predators GM Chris MacFarland faces his old club.
