Packers Sign Veteran Guard Kevin Zeitler to One-Year Contract

Veteran guard Kevin Zeitler is signing a one-year deal with the Green Bay Packers as the team attempts to fix an offensive line ranking last in the NFL for rushing yards.

Veteran guard Kevin Zeitler is signing a one-year contract with the Green Bay Packers, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday. The 36-year-old Wisconsin native joins a 1-2 Green Bay squad that currently ranks last in the NFL with 48.7 rushing yards per game. The team’s 146 total rushing yards through three games marks their lowest output since at least 1933, while their 16% pass block win rate is the league's worst since ESPN began tracking the metric in 2017.

Zeitler, the 27th overall pick in 2012, has appeared in 214 career games and spent last season with the Tennessee Titans. During the 2025 campaign, he started 16 games and played 92% of offensive snaps, recording a 92.2% pass block win rate and a 70% run block win rate despite allowing 10 sacks. His recent tenure in Tennessee was hampered by groin, biceps, and quadriceps injuries.

The signing follows a series of roster moves intended to stabilize an offensive line that lost right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele to a season-ending knee injury in the opener. The Packers recently added guard Laken Tomlinson from the Dallas Cowboys practice squad and signed Mekhi Becton to their own practice squad. Offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich indicated that the new additions could potentially play as early as this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers depending on their grasp of the playbook.
