Alaric Jackson will serve a one-game suspension for striking Bradley Chubb following the Rams' 37-34 overtime loss to the Buffalo Bills.
NFL hearing officer Derrick Brooks reduced Los Angeles Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson’s suspension from two games to one on Wednesday. The discipline stems from Jackson punching Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb in the face with his right hand following a 37-34 overtime loss on Monday night. The league initially cited a violation of Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which covers acts contrary to the principles of sportsmanship.
Jackson appealed the initial two-game ruling on Tuesday. The altercation occurred at midfield while Jackson was exchanging jerseys with Bills defensive lineman Deone Walker. According to Chubb, the incident was sparked by comments he made regarding the Rams' blocking schemes, specifically telling Jackson that "that chip's not gonna save you."
As a result of the reduced ruling, Jackson will miss only the Week 6 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Sean McVay announced that David Quessenberry will start at left tackle in Jackson's absence. This marks the second suspension of Jackson's career, following a two-game absence in 2024 for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
