Red Bulls Forward Julian Hall Remains Undecided on International Allegiance Despite USMNT Call-up

New York Red Bulls forward Julian Hall, who has nine goals and five assists this season, received his first USMNT call-up but remains open to representing Poland.

New York Red Bulls teenage forward Julian Hall received his first senior call-up to the U.S. men's national team on Thursday, joining a 13-newcomer roster selected by coach Mauricio Pochettino. The 18-year-old enters the squad following a breakout MLS season featuring nine goals and five assists in 25 appearances. Despite the selection, Hall told The New York Post that his international commitment is "not solidified" as he remains open to representing Poland, the country of his mother's birth.

Hall holds dual citizenship and has previously participated in youth national team camps for both the United States and Poland. The NYC-born attacker has represented the U.S. at the U15 and U17 levels and has worn the name "Zakrzewski" on his club jersey as a tribute to his Polish heritage. He joins Red Bulls teammate Adri Mehmeti as one of the first-time selections for the upcoming international window.

The USMNT is scheduled to play four friendlies against Peru, Chile, Canada, and Mexico between Sept. 26 and Oct. 6. Under FIFA regulations, Hall would not be permanently tied to the U.S. even if he appears in these matches, as eligibility is only finalized once a player participates in a competitive match organized by a confederation or FIFA. These fixtures mark the first squad assembly since the United States was eliminated from the World Cup by Belgium.
