Seattle is adding veteran Joe Mixon to the roster following a Monday workout and the loss of rookie Jadarian Price to injured reserve.
The Seattle Seahawks are signing running back Joe Mixon following a Monday workout, according to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The move follows the team placing rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price on injured reserve Saturday due to a chest injury. Price is expected to miss a minimum of three games.
Mixon, 30, was released by the Houston Texans in March after a foot injury sidelined him for the entire 2025 season. During his 2024 campaign with Houston, he earned Pro Bowl honors by rushing for 1,016 yards and 11 touchdowns. The former second-round pick spent his first seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and enters Seattle with career totals of 7,428 rushing yards and 60 rushing touchdowns, alongside 2,448 receiving yards and 14 touchdown catches.
Seattle’s current backfield features Emanuel Wilson and George Holani at the top of the depth chart. In a 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Wilson recorded 81 rushing yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns—one rushing and one receiving. The Seahawks also have Velus Jones Jr. on the active roster, while Zach Charbonnet is currently on the physically unable to perform list.
