Spurs Inquire for Christian Pulisic as Ollie Watkins Joins Al Hilal for £51M

Tottenham Hotspur has identified 27-year-old Christian Pulisic as a transfer target while Ollie Watkins completes a £51 million move to Al Hilal.

Tottenham Hotspur has officially inquired about AC Milan winger Christian Pulisic, identifying the 27-year-old USMNT star as a primary alternative to Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo. Pulisic, who is currently recovering from an injury, was absent from the squad during Milan's 2-0 Serie A victory over Venezia on Friday. Simultaneously, Al Hilal has confirmed the signing of England international striker Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa for a fee of approximately £51 million.

In the Bundesliga, 20-year-old striker Christian Kofane scored for Bayer Leverkusen after entering as a substitute, though his side ultimately suffered a 3-2 defeat against SV Elversberg on Saturday. Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle are currently monitoring Kofane ahead of the Tuesday transfer deadline. Chelsea specifically views the young forward as a high-potential prospect. Meanwhile, Barcelona is engaged in very advanced negotiations with Arsenal to sign 29-year-old striker Gabriel Jesus, who has one year remaining on his contract with the English champions. The move follows the Catalan club's failed attempt to secure Julián Álvarez.

AC Milan and Barcelona Defensive Targets

AC Milan has placed 20-year-old Manchester United defender Leny Yoro and 22-year-old Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde on their shortlist. The Rossoneri are actively exploring the market for long-term full-back options as they prepare to offload Fikayo Tomori. Securing Balde would reportedly require an offer of €50 million. Barcelona is also tracking Internazionale wing-back Federico Dimarco, who recorded 46 appearances across all competitions last season. The Nerazzurri are considering a contract extension for the 28-year-old to ward off interest from the LaLiga side.

Liverpool is preparing an approach for Genk’s 18-year-old goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans. The 6-foot-6 Belgian youth international, who has earned two caps at the U19 level, is viewed as a replacement for Giorgi Mamardashvili, a target for Nottingham Forest. Real Madrid is also keeping tabs on Brughmans' situation. In the Women's Super League, Manchester United is finalizing the acquisition of Mexico international Rebeca Bernal from the Washington Spirit, with an announcement expected before their September 4 season opener.

Premier League Deadline Day Movements

Everton is weighing a move for 25-year-old USMNT forward Folarin Balogun, though any deal depends on the departures of Iliman Ndiaye and Beto. Beto is currently linked with a €17 million transfer to Fiorentina. Additionally, Crystal Palace defender Honest Ahanor is set to join Chelsea in a deal worth €40 million following a loan agreement. Crystal Palace has also informed Aston Villa that striker Jean-Philippe Mateta will cost £25 million.

Liverpool, Everton, and Roma are tracking 25-year-old VfB Stuttgart winger Jamie Leweling for a potential loan deal that includes a €40 million obligation to buy. In other rumors, Marcus Rashford intends to remain at Manchester United despite interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Chelsea. Newcastle and Sunderland are competing for Roma winger Matias Soule, while Sunderland is also discussing a loan for Tottenham defender Kevin Danso.

European and Saudi Market Updates

Atletico Madrid has made a fresh approach for Juventus striker Jonathan David. If the Canada international departs, Juventus has identified Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee as a potential successor. Juventus remains determined to keep midfielder Nico Gonzalez despite interest from Atletico. In Spain, Valencia is optimistic about signing Liverpool attacking midfielder Harvey Elliott.

Al Ittihad and Al Shabab have expressed interest in Al Hilal striker Karim Benzema. In the Championship, Hull City is preparing a £10 million bid for Stoke winger Sorba Thomas. Finally, Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson has attracted interest from both Crystal Palace and Fulham as the Tuesday deadline approaches.
