St. Louis City reached a record 21st consecutive game without a loss following a 0-0 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday.
St. Louis City played to a 0-0 draw against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday, establishing a new record for an MLS club with 21 consecutive games without a loss across all competitions. The result moved Yoann Damet’s side past the previous mark of 20 straight unbeaten matches, which was set by the New York Red Bulls in 2016 and tied by St. Louis following a victory over the LA Galaxy last Sunday.
This result also matched the FC Dallas record from 2010 for the longest MLS unbeaten run in a single season at 19 games. The streak, which includes two wins in the U.S. Open Cup, dates back to the club's last league defeat on May 3. Following the draw, St. Louis remains in second place in the Western Conference with 51 points, trailing the first-place Whitecaps by a single point with five matches remaining in the regular season.
St. Louis City is scheduled to face Minnesota United FC on the road this Saturday before competing in the U.S. Open Cup final against the Columbus Crew on Oct. 21. Vancouver will also travel for their next fixture against Austin. While St. Louis holds the unbeaten streak record, the LA Galaxy maintain the record for most consecutive MLS wins at 15, achieved during the 1997 and 1998 seasons, according to ESPN News Services.
