Tarik Skubal will take the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the NLCS at American Family Field on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Friday that Tarik Skubal will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers, followed by Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2. The series opener is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. ET at American Family Field, with Monday’s second game slated for 5 p.m. ET. Skubal, who joined the Dodgers via trade from the Detroit Tigers on Aug. 2, recently threw six innings of one-run ball during Game 1 of the NLDS.
Yamamoto enters his Game 2 start after pitching seven innings and allowing one run to defeat Chris Sale in Game 3 of the NLDS. During the regular season, Yamamoto surrendered two runs in 13 innings against Milwaukee. He also recorded a complete game with one run allowed against the Brewers during Game 2 of the previous year's NLCS. Skubal has given up six runs, five of which were earned, across 12 innings of work against Milwaukee this season.
While the rotation beyond the first two matchups is not official, Blake Snell is the likely candidate for Game 3 at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday. Snell recorded 11 outs in his lone NLDS appearance. Tyler Glasnow is the probable option for Game 4. The Brewers are expected to counter in the first two games with Jacob Misiorowski and Logan Henderson.
