Tenerife committed to supporting the one-year-old daughter of Jesús de Miguel until she turns 18 following the forward's death at age 30.

Tenerife majority shareholder Rayco García and CEO Antonio Manuel Porro Granados have committed the club to supporting the one-year-old daughter of forward Jesús de Miguel until she turns 18. The 30-year-old player passed away last Tuesday, one day after suffering a cardiac arrest following a collision with an opposing goalkeeper during a second-division match against Andorra. De Miguel, who wore the number nine shirt, is survived by his wife, María, and daughter, Carla.

Financial assistance for the family includes a base compensation of approximately €360,000 reported by Spanish media. Additionally, a crowdfunding campaign launched by Hercules forward Fran Sol raised over €150,000 as of Sunday, with contributions from Spain internationals Álvaro Morata and Álex Baena. Second-division clubs Burgos and Almería have also pledged to donate their gate receipts from matches against Tenerife this season to De Miguel’s heirs.

Tributes across Spanish football this weekend included a minute of silence at matches and play stoppages in the ninth minute. A memorial service was held at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium on Saturday, following a funeral in Navahermosa on Thursday attended by Spain coach Luis de la Fuente and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Tenerife officials stated they intend to provide support beyond legal obligations to ensure the family's material circumstances are maintained.
